GRAPPLE SUNDAY SCHOOL -- "What's the Big Deal about Sin?" -- April - May, 2013

 By George Nielsen

During April and May, 2013, we started a 5-week trial of the GRAPPLE Preteen curriculum.   We covered one lesson module, titled "What's the Big Deal about Sin?" and its Key Verse, 1 Peter 3:18 (shown below).    On May 19th, a lesson covering The Day of Pentecost was taught, presented using the Grapple format.

The Key Verse is:
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,     1 Peter 3.18 (NKJV)

The Key Verses for the Pentecost lesson are:
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. …

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2: 1 & 4 (NKJV)

Throughout this period of classes, we also had a second verse, the Emphasis Memory Verse, which is:
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.   2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)

The Lessons taught each week are listed below, with a link which will take you to a copy of information for parents that summarizes each lesson. Click on the DATE to be linked to this summary.

Now that the trial use of Grapple Preteen curriculum has been completed, it will be considered in our future curriculum planning.
